The Commune of Maisonnais-sur-Tardoire is located in the district of Rochechouart, the department of Haute-Vienne and the New Aquitaine region. It is the westernmost commune of the historic Limousin region, bordering the Charente and Périgord. It is part of the Ouest Limousin community of communes and the Perigord-Limousin Regional Nature Park.
